Most destinations line up lodging through a hotel partner they already work with. The ask is usually straightforward once the hotel understands what they get: a content creator experiencing their property and the surrounding community, and photos and videos that put both in front of future travelers.

Copy the message below, fill in the bracketed details, and send it to your hotel contact. Keep the creator’s visit dates handy so you can confirm quickly if they say yes.

Hello [Hotel Name],

We have the opportunity to feature our community and your hotel with a content creator through Shrpa.

Shrpa is a platform where content creators highlight the best places for visitors to explore when they’re in town. The creator will spend time in our community capturing photos and videos of the places they visit, along with a short testimonial about each one, so future travelers can see what makes this area worth the trip.

We feel [Hotel Name] would be a great place for this content creator to get the best experience in our community. As we are looking at securing lodging for the creator’s upcoming visit, I would be happy to work together to figure out how we can reserve a room with you.

Comping the room is also a great opportunity to get content of your property. If you’re interested, we can arrange for the creator to capture photos and videos at [Hotel Name] while they are staying with you. It’s easy to coordinate as part of the visit, and having that content to use can help offset the cost of the room.

I hope we can work together to give our visitor a great experience in our community!

Thank you,
[Your Name]

Before you send it

  • Confirm the dates first. Destinations can cover up to two nights for a creator visit, so know which nights you need before you ask.
  • Name the hotel specifically. Replacing every placeholder with the property name reads as a genuine invitation rather than a mass email.
  • Mention what the hotel gets. Photos and videos of the property, plus a feature in the creator’s content and social post, are the value exchange for the comped room. Say so plainly.
  • Offer the content opportunity. Hotels are often more willing to comp a room once they know they can get usable content of their property out of it, and it takes very little to coordinate during the visit.

If a hotel comp falls through

Lodging details are listed on the creator visit before a creator applies. If you can’t arrange a room, you can purchase a lodging add-on starting at $250. Those funds transfer directly to the creator to help cover two nights of lodging, so the visit can still go ahead.
