Shrpa’s expectations

  • Depending on the creator visit details, you will visit 1–10 locations within the destination area and create photo and video content.
  • Upload 80+ pieces of content, including at least 8 video clips (B-roll type).
  • Submit all content within 10 days after your visit.
  • Post on social media using any of the content you made during the creator visit (in-feed or reel), tagging the destination and @tryshrpa.

Take lots of photos and videos

We recommend taking a minimum of 20+ photos or videos per stop so you have plenty of options to choose from and fully capture your experience. You can always write more after your trip, but you can’t take more photos or videos.

Shrpa’s payment policy

Every creator visit is put together the same way. The destination takes care of the big costs of the trip, and Shrpa pays you on top of that. Here’s what goes into a creator visit.

Lodging

Your overnight stay is always covered. Most of the time the destination coordinates lodging directly with a hotel or property. When they can’t, funds are provided so you can book your own stay instead. Either way, it’s spelled out in the lodging details for the visit.

High-expense items

When a visit includes something large or expensive, like a guided tour, a major equipment rental, or tickets to a big attraction, the destination covers it or coordinates it directly with the business, so it doesn’t come out of your pocket.

Incidentals and expenses

Shrpa often provides additional funds to help offset the day-to-day costs of the trip, like food and smaller attractions along the way.

Base pay

On top of all of that, there is always base pay from Shrpa for the content you create. That amount increases as you complete more creator visits, so your pay grows along with your experience.

You see the full breakdown before you apply

Every creator visit shows exactly what you will be paid, itemized up front: the lodging arrangement, what the destination is covering, any incidental funds, and your base pay. You can see the whole picture before you apply to anything.

Creation tips

Quality photos are key

  • Take photos that reflect what the location looks and feels like.
  • Shoot each stop from a few different angles instead of settling for one straight-on shot.
  • Include people in some of your shots. It shows scale and makes a place feel alive.
  • When applicable, capture both the inside and the outside of a place so the full atmosphere comes through.

Write short, testimonial-style descriptions

  • Tell us what you experienced and what you loved about the place, in your own voice. Think testimonial or review, not an itinerary write-up.
  • Keep it short. A sentence or two per stop is plenty.
  • Shrpa uses your descriptions to build out the itinerary, and we may feature them as testimonials down the road, so keep them personal and specific.

Shooting on an iPhone? Photos transferred to a Mac stay in HEIC format, so convert them to JPEG before uploading.
